Axel Linder was born in Sweden on July 12, 1891, the son of Sifennas and Anna Linder. when he was two years of age he emigrated to the United States. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at the East Moe Church in Moe Township, attended school and grew to manhood in this community. He served overseas in World War One. On Sept. 4, 1923 he was united in marriage to Minnie Larson. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Linder, lived in Alexandria, Minnesota, where Mr. Linder operated a garage for many years, later he worked for J. P. Anderson, Manly Larson and Newhouse Machinery. Mr. Linder retired about eight years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Linder celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1973. Mr. Linder passed away at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, Minnesota on Friday, June 4, 1976 at the age of 85 years. Surviving are his wife: Minnie; one daughter and two sons: Lorraine (Mrs. John Peterson) of Chattanooga, Tenn; Phillip and David Linder of Alexandria; also surviving are five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son Allen and one daughter, Shirley Ann. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 8, 1976, at 2 p.m. Bethesda Lutheran Church, Alexandria, Minn. with Rev. Paul Ranum officiating. Interment was in East Moe Cemetery, Moe Twp. Pallbearers were Sidney Bergner, Marvin Bergner, Robert Jelsing, Carl Thornton, Alf Bjoralt, Melvin Hanson.
