Mary was the first born daughter of John and Bridget Towey Barnaboy, Brusna, Ballaghaderreen, Co Roscommon. She was described as having red hair and very good looking. She emigrated to the USA and married Fred Botham. She had two sons and one daughter. She died i8n 1920 shortly after the birth of her third child from septicemia. Her eldest son Fred Jnr. Was raised by his father and the youngest two were adopted by their paternal aunt Bentley (Gould) in Binghamton New Jersey.
