Funeral services for Addison Lee Alsop, 79, of Spotsylvania County were held Saturday in the Found & Sons Funeral Chapel, Fredericksburg with Rev. Cliff Reynolds officiating. Mr. Alsop died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at Mary Washington Hospital. He was a son of Burdell "Burley" Addison Alsop and Clara Payne English. He was a member of Goshen Baptist Church and served in the U. S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 320 at Spotsylvania Courthouse. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia A. Rumsey of Spotsylvania; two sisters, Mable Wheat and Clara Mae Massey, both of Spotsylvania; two brothers, James H. Alsop of Bassett and Arthur P. Alsop of Spotsylvania, and two grandchildren.
