Ann I. Stover

Dover, Ann I. Stover, 96, entered into rest at 1 a.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Senior Commons at Powder Mill. She was the wife of the late Edward S. Stover, Sr., who passed July 17, 2015.

Born October 9, 1921 in Dover, Ann was a daughter of the late Christian E. and Alyce (Pickell) Lamparter.

She graduated from Dover High School in 1941 and went on to Prowell's Business School in York.

She worked for McKay Chain and Bluebird Silk Mill.
Ann was a founding member of St. David's E.C. Church in Dover. She was active with the York YWCA and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Ann enjoyed cooking, baking, going camping, traveling to the shore and the mountains. She also loved sharing memorable stories and attending family gatherings. Ann was a big Baltimore Orioles fan.

Ann is survived by three sons, Edward S. Stover, Jr. and wife, Deborah of York, James M. Stover and wife, Kathy of York and Joel A. Stover and companion, Lynn Horn of Dover; four grandchildren, Jennifer Stover and fiancé, Derek Smith, Amy (Stover) Bruggeman and husband, Eric, Edward S. Stover III and Alexis Stover; a great-grandchild, Piper Stover; and a brother, Eugene Lamparter of Dover. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Catharine Berkheimer, Margaret Lamparter, Alice Neiman, Blanche Lamparter and Ruth Lamparter; and five brothers, George Lamparter, Christ Lamparter, Franklin Lamparter, Richard Lamparter, and Park Lamparter.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ann's funeral at 12 noon on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Quickel Cemetery. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. N. Patrick Teaford.
