DOVER - Park E. Lamparter, 70, of Dover, died at 11:20 a.m. Sunday at York Hospital. He was the hus band of Delores G. (Gross) Lampart er, to whom he was married for 51 years.
The service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Dover Bethany United Methodist Church, 4510 Bull Road, Dover. Burial will be in Suburban Memorial Gardens. Viewings will be 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at William E. Little Funeral Home, 60 S. Main St., Manchester, and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. The Rev. Rodney I. Richesson will officiate.
Mr. Lampart er was born April 14, 1932, in Dover. He was the son of the late Christ E. and Alyce (Pick ell) Lamparter.
He owned and operated P.E.L. Fencing in Dover. He trained thoroughbred racehorses for more than 15 years, and had been a leading trainer for Hagerstown Race Course in Maryland and Penn National Race Course in Grantville. He was a social member of Dover Fire Company, a member of Shiloh American Legion Post 791 and a U.S. Naval Reserve veteran.
Mr. Lamparter also is survived by four daughters, Dr. Deborah A. Lamparter-Piarulli of Cherry Hill, N.J., Sharon L. Hurd and Wanda J. Stover, both of Dover, and Lisa M. Peters of Manchester; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Franklin Lamparter of Columbia and Eugene Lamparter of Dover; and three sisters, Catherine Berkheimer, Ann Stover and Alyce Neiman, all of Dover.
