MOUNTVILLE Franklin P. Lamparter, 90, died early Thursday morning, May 9, 2013, at Hospice of Lancaster County in Mount Joy. He was married 68 years to Geraldine Poe Lamparter, who survives. Born in Dover Township, York County, he was the son of the late Christian and Alice Pickell Lamparter. Frank retired from the former LASCO Products, Columbia, where he worked as a foreman. In his earlier days, he worked with his brother in the rendering business and later he and his wife owned and operated the Lamplight Inn in Columbia. He served in the U.S Navy during WWII as a radioman third class. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed gardening and in particular, tending to his fruit trees. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his sons, Franklin Lamparter, husband of Diane of Dover, Arthur Lamparter, husband of Fay of Mount Joy, and Larry A. Lamparter and Jeffrey L. Lamparter, both of Columbia; daughter-in-law, Angela M. Lamparter of Columbia; six grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; three great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and brother, Eugene Lamparter, husband of Doris, and sister, Ann, wife of Edward Stover, both of Dover Township. His son, Kevin L. "Spank" Lamparter; five sisters; and four brothers preceded him in death. Family and friends may view at the Clyde W. Kraft Funeral Home, Inc., 519 Walnut St., Columbia, on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. A graveside service will be held in Mount Rose Cemetery, 1502 Mount Rose Ave., York, on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. Kindly omit flowers.
