HUGOTON – Avanell N. Gaskill 97, died Friday, April 11, 2014, at Satanta District Hospital.

She was born November 8, 1916 to George Washington & Ella Mae Wait Anderson in Stevens County.

She married Glen C. on April 5, 1939 in Elkhart.

She was a member of United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women of Moscow and the Eastern Star of Hugoton.

Survivors include daughters, Joyce Smith and husband Henry, Moscow, and Brenda Schechter and husband Hal, Sweetwater, Okla.; sister, Fannie Kragrice; four grandchildren: Darwin Smith, Pocola, Okla., Tia Bell, Moscow, Gina Gast, Lee's Summit, Mo. and Julie Younger, Moscow; seven great grandchildren: Caroline Smith, Pocola, Okla., Jacob Bell, Moscow, Joseph and Abigale Gast, Lee's Summit, Mo., Dyaln Burnett, Moscow, Kaden Gifford, Moscow, and Cole Younger, Moscow; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in by her parents; her husband; son, Darwin Gaskill; granddaughter, Jodi Nell Gifford; brothers: Owen, Deward, Vester, Fred, A.J. and Budd Anderson; sisters, Murland Crawford, Marie Butcher, Vella Stoops, Deannie Hall, Agnes Allen, Ila Fern Anderson, Avis Curtis and Inez Ramey.

• Funeral services will be on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Moscow with the Rev. Tim McCray presiding.

Burial will be in Moscow Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
