Florence J. Grove, a retired nurse and Lewiston resident, died of cancer at her Lewiston home Saturday. She was 77.
Florence was born June 20, 1917 at Greer to Charles and Elsie McKinley Stockard.
She grew up in the Greer area and graduated from Kamiah High School.
Dec. 8, 1934, she married Lewis C. Grove at Kamiah.
In 1939 she became a nurse at Groves Hospital in Kamiah and worked there until moving to Vancouver, in 1948 where she worked as a welder.
Later, she and her husband moved back to Lewiston where she was a nurse at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. She retired after 20 years there.
She enjoyed working in her garden and flower bed and liked camping in the mountains. She was fond of animals.
She is survived by her husband of Lewiston; a son, Jack; two daughters, Judy and Jeanne; two brothers, Kenny and Lester; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
One son, Rex Grove, one brother, Frank Stockard and one sister, Beula Walker, died previously.
