Born at Millville, Calif., Oct. 13, 1867, Mr. Fender came to Leland in 1881 where he began farming.
In 1892 he was married to Bell Stanford. They were the parents of two sons. Mrs. Fender died Nov. 1, 1901.
Mr. Fender came to Lewiston in 1902 and was employed by Sam Collings, former owner of the Spokane Indians baseball club for 40 years.
He married Mrs. Lena Carlson in January 1903. She died in December 1925.
Mr. Fender retired Feb. 11, 1943. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Wilford, Los Angeles, and Doyle, Fort Logan, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Loretta Black, Caldwell and two grandchildren.
