Donald G. Elwood died December 12, 2010. Services were held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Lutheran church of the Master, West Campus, Omaha. Military rites were by the Millard American Legion Post #374 and VFW Post #8334.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyman and Velzo Elwood, grandson, Scott Elwood, sister, Helen Rae Allan and infant sister, Diane.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Helen Kruse Elwood; sons and spouses, Michael and Cindy, Patrick and Lori, Steven and Celeste and daughter, Beth and Mark Wewel; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a brother, Bill and his wife, Linda.
