VIOLA M. BEARD, 86, formerly of Allen County, passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Ossian Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born Feb. 4, 1928, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Urban and Loretta (Till) Sorg.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Beard, in 1989; daughter, Lois Reed, in 1999; and siblings, Carl Sorg, Dale Sorg and Luella Miller. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2014, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 14623 Bluffton Road, Yoder (IN 46798), with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46809) with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
