After 87 years of a life well lived, Arnold Bernard Fehringer passed away peacefully on March 15, 2014.Arnold was born in Peetz, Colorado on October 3, 1926 to Leo and Angela (Zach) Fehringer. In 1944, he graduated from high school in Peetz, Colorado.Arnold served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1946 before returning to Peetz, Colorado where he married Genevieve Wieser in 1948. Arnold enjoyed being an active member of the Catholic Community, and served in the Knights of Columbus in Sterling, Colorado. Arnold and Genevieve moved to Aberdeen, Idaho to start farming in 1955. They were members of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Aberdeen, which Arnold helped build. Arnold and Genevieve continued to live in Aberdeen, where they raised their seven children and continued farming potatoes, barley, alfalfa, peas, and rocks. After many wonderful years together, Genevieve passed away in 1986.Arnold then met his second love, Rosemarie Bierman, and they married in 2000. Arnold and Rosemarie were active members of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community where they had many friends.Arnold enjoyed farming, traveling, a good card game with a bowl of ice cream and spending time with family and friends. Arnold will be missed for his big smile, his strong faith in God and his hard work in raising and supporting his family. Friends and family will forever remember his witty sense of humor that kept them on their toes.Arnold is survived by his wife, Rosemarie, and his seven children: Connie (Jim) Peck, Shirley (Gary) Bickel, Cindy (the late Jerry) Dotson, Brian (Teri) Fehringer, Linda (Jim) Suitts, Roger (Robbyn) Fehringer, and Dale (Judi) Fehringer. Arnold is also survived by his three step-children: Margaret Bierman, David Bierman and Karl Bierman. Arnold has 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.A recitation of the Holy Rosary with a viewing to follow will be at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, St. Anthony's Chapel at 507 North 7th Ave in Pocatello, Idaho at 7 pm on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at the church. The burial will be at the Aberdeen Cemetery at 3 pm on Thursday, March 20, 2014. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Downard Funeral Home, 241 North Garfield Ave., Pocatello, Idaho.
