Coletta Catherine Roelle, the daughter of Leo Frank and Angela Mary (Zach) Fehringer, was born on Oct. 12, 1925, at Humphrey, Neb. She moved to Peetz in 1926, graduating from St. Anthony High School in Sterling with the Class of 1943.
On May 14, 1946, Coletta was united in marriage to Francis Roelle in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Peetz. She had been a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Pitch and Bridge Card Clubs, the Hilltoppers Club, the Farmer's Union, served as a volunteer for Iliff Cooperative Ministries and enjoyed attending her children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting events.
Survivors include fourteen children: Jim (Linda) Roelle, Dennis (Ann) Roelle, Ken Roelle, Mike (Dorris) Roelle, Larry (Joanne) Roelle and Keith (Sandi) Roelle all of Peetz; Bev (Don) Lock of Haxtun; Elaine (Cliff) Lock, Mary (Bob) Mollendor, Jolene (Steve) Marshall, Wayne (Mindy) Roelle all of Sterling; Lynette (Arvin) Janzen of Brush; Gladys (Doug) Riemenschneider of Akron and Lisa (Dennis) Walter of Wray; 46 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marcella Schumacher of Peetz and Barbara Altes of Sterling; six brothers, Arnold (Rose Marie) Fehringer, Mark (Ginger) Fehringer, Gerald Fehringer, Edward (Jeanie) Fehringer, Leo (Marlene) Fehringer and Charles (LaJean) Fehringer all of Idaho; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Fehringer of Idaho and Faye (Frank) Fehringer of Peetz and many extended family members.
Coletta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1996; one grandson, Cole Roelle; one brother, Alvin Fehringer; two brothers-in-law, Walter Schumacher and Vern Altes; and two sisters-in-law, Genevieve Fehringer and Marion Fehringer.
Memorial contributions may be made in Coletta's name to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
