Excerpt--Adam E. (Amo) Sterne, 55, of Millerdale, Ridgeley, died suddenly yesterday at his home. He was a foreman in the maintenance department of Celahese Fibers Co. He was outstanding in athletics in the 1930's, being an All-City end on Allegheny High School's football team in 1933. A Navy veteran of WW II. He was born in Rowlesburg, the s/o the late Otis and Daisy Ayersman Sterne. He is survived by his widow, Flossie Sweitzer Sterne; one son, Richard Sterne of this city; three brothers, Carl Sterne, Pittsburgh; Otis Sterne, this city, and Ronald Sterne, LaVale; and two sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Yeary of Louisville, Ky., and Mrs. Yvette Duke of Akron.

Excerpt--although overshadowed by more publicized teammates, Adam (Amo) Sterne was a vital cog in Allegheny High's athletic success of the 1930's. Amo, who died unexpectedly a few days ago at the age of 55, was an all-round mechanical man for the Campers, playing football, basketball and baseball. Adam, the oldest of four brothers, all of whom starred at Allegheny, was a 1933 All-City end in football as a senior. He was a guard in basketball and played third base in baseball. Amo was the only one of the four Sternes who was a three-sport man at Alco. He was followed by Carl, known as "Sparky", Otis, whose knickname was "Booty" and Ronnie. "Sparky" played second base on the American Legion team of 1934 that won the national championship at Chicago's Cominsky Park.
