Revolutionary War soldier. Jesse Moore was captured by the British and forced to march to King's Mountain. He would latter say when forced to fire on the Patriots he shot into the air. After the defeat of the British at King's Mountain, N.C., he served with the 10th Regiment of North Carolina Continental line until 1782.
From minutes of Globe Baptist Church: March 24, 1827 "Died since last meeting our dear old brother Jesse Moore, Sr., the tenth of this month. Resolve that we entertain a high sense of his worth and his servies to the church both as a member and as a deacon and that we as a church feel the loss occasioned by his death. He lack one month, one day of being 84 years old."
