He was born on November 23, 1930 in Blackford County the son of Melvin C. and Rosa Barbara (Lisenfelt) Rogers.
He attended Montpelier High School and served in the U.S. Army in occupied Germany after WW II.
Mr. Rogers was a local farmer and then became a millwright with Wilman Lumber Company.
He was an active member of IGEI (Iris Growers of Eastern Indiana) and was known statewide for his beautiful iris beds.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Thomas Rogers; two daughters, Lisa Garinger (husband, Kent), Muncie and Melanie Rogers, Mobile, AL; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Norma Rogers; two brothers, Virgil and Clifford Rogers; and his sister, Mabel McDonald.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Pastor Rory Bond officiating.
