CHESTERFIELD – Betty R. Rogers, 90, passed away on Thursday evening, July 7, 2016 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
She was born on January 7, 1926 in Muncie, the daughter of John G. and Ruth F. (Dillon) Langdon and graduated from Selma High School in 1943. Betty remained in the Selma area until 1993 when she moved to Chesterfield. She was married to Merlyn W. Thomas until his death in 1989 and to Melvin A. Rogers until his death in 2014.
Betty was a member of the Chesterfield Christian Church, active member of the Eastern Indiana Iris Growers Association, past member of the Selma Lady Lions, the Eastern District of the Indiana Food and Fashion Club and served as an accredited Indiana Flower Show Judge. Betty also enjoyed traveling.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey “Steve” Thomas of Chesterfield and Bart Anthony Thomas (wife, Vivienne) of Mobile, AL; nine grandchildren, Denise Harvey (husband, Mark), Melissa Nemeth (husband, Paul), Paige Carter (husband, Paul), Chad Thomas (wife, Teresa), Jennifer Sharp (husband, Jason), Jessica Currier (husband, Paul), Megan Thomas, Brandon Thomas (wife, Emily) and Veronica Thomas; twenty-five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Susan Clark (friend, Ron Pelham) of Sarasota, FL; and one son-in-law, Rex Konz (wife, Nancy) of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one daughter, Judith Rachel Konz; three brothers, John Langdon, William Langdon and James Langdon; and one sister, Mary Cline.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2016 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with Pastor Ned Clarke officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
