ELIZABETHTOWN - Abner O. (Pat) Knepp, 81, a resident of Masonic Homes, Elizabethrown, since Jan. 22, 1990, and a former resident of Enola, died Tuesday, March 30, 1993, at the home.

He was born Oct. 29, 1911, in Curwensville, the son of Ira M. and Rilla (Johnston) Knepp.

He was a graduate of Curwensville High School Class of 1930 and was an outstanding athlete. He owned and managed the W. A. Hipps Insurance Agency with his wife until 1956. At that time he moved his family to the Harrisburg area where he was employed by the Pa. State Insurance Department.

He was a member of Noble Lodge 480 F&AM, Curwensville; Grand Cedars of Lebanon and Odd Fellows Lodge. He served two terms as president of Curwensville Lions Club when it first organized, served three years in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific War Theater, was a charter member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Camp Hill.

He married Mary Kephart on Aug. 14, 1937, who is a resident of Masonic Homes, Elizabethtown. He is also survived by one son Timothy P. Sr. and one grandson, Timothy P. Jr., both of Mechanicsburg; two sisters, Kathryn Liddle of Butler and Mrs. John (Twila K.) Mathieson of Clearwater, Fla.; and one brother, Col. Lester J. Knepp of Augusta, Ga.

There will be no viewing. Graveside services will be held Friday at noon.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in St. Timothy's Lutheran Church, Camp Hill, with the Rev. Randolph A. Barr of St. Timothy Lutheran Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 4200 Market St., Camp Hill, Pa. 17011.
