Albert was the oldest child of John Edward Hill and Mary Alice (Hayes). He had thirteen siblings: Eva, Agnes, Lem, Elizabeth Cramer, Sarah Ann, Alvin "Dutch", Mary Ellen, Irene, Burnice, Emily, Geneva, Jack, and Ada.

On February 9, 1916 he married Fannie Allen. They had five children: Velma, Mildred, Allen, Cal, and Sherrill.

Albert was a native of New Mexico. He worked as a car inspector for the railroad until he owned and operated his own ice plant.

He was 83 years old when he passed away and is buried alongside his wife, Fannie.
