Clarence A. Veasey

Funeral services for Clarence A. Veasey, 83, of Opelika will be Thursday, December 4, 2003, at 11:00 a.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Garden Hills Cemetery. The Rev. Earl Ballard will officiate.

Visitation is Wednesday, December 3, 2003, 6-8 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home.

Mr. Veasey, who died Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at East Alabama Medical Center, was born March 8, 1920, in Georgia.

Mr. Veasey had lived most of his life in Opelika. He was a retired concession vendor in the Lee County Courthouse. He worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), and he attended Trinity United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette B. Veasey; and a sister, Lillian Holland.

He is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Fay Walton, Wetumpka, Mary Sue Phelps (David), Montgomery, Martha A. Markham, Simpsonville, SC; two sons, Davis Veasey, Opelika, James D. Veasey (Darlene) Tallassee; one sister, Ruth Strange, Houston, TX; one brother, William Otis Veasey, Columbus, GA; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
