Roseanne Marshall was one of five daughters born to William Marshall. She married Andrew Jackson Coburn in Boyd County Kentucky in the early 1880s. According to family records, William Marshall came to John Coburn's one day and said, "You've got five boys and I've got five girls". From there, they were matched up for marriage. Roseanne had a twin sister, Rhoda. Andrew had a twin brother, Jesse. The twins married the twins. Roseanne's oldest sister, Nancy married a Ramey. They had a son, Miles Ramey. He married Roseanne's daughter, Alice. It does get complicated!
Roseanne and Andrew followed the coal camps of Kentucky eventually relocating to the coal mines and steel mill area near Birmingham, Alabama.
