She was born August 23, 1921 in Baskin to the union of Lee and Lizzie Aldridge and passed from this life on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Plantation Nursing Home in Winnsboro.
Mrs. Edith was a person that loved and served her family and friends. She was quite a virtuous woman as is taught in Proverbs 31.
Preceding Mrs. Edith in death was her parents; husband of 49 years Elton Reeves; son C. L. Reeves; daughter Carolyn Ann Reeves; brother Ray Aldridge; and sister Helen Durham.
She was a gifted servant to all. Loved and lived for her family and her Lord. She was a faithful member of United Pentecostal Church of Winnsboro, taught Sunday School classes at various times during her life and donated numerous hours with her women's church groups in her earlier years. She loved children, baby-sat for many an was "Mom" to so many more! Each had a special place in her heart. She knew no strangers; everyone that entered her door was made to feel like part of the family. Her favorite hobbies were reading, sewing, crocheting and quilting.
Mrs. Edith will be greatly missed by so many. She leaves to cherish her memory: her son Hollis R. Reeves and wife Jo Ann of Lake Charles; daughters Betty Hampton and husband Don of St. Joe, Karean (Kay) Payne and husband James of Fort Necessity, Clara Reeves of Winnsboro, Rhonda Buschhammer and husband Joe of Palm Beach, FL; six granddaughters; numerous Great grandchildren and Great-Great grandchildren; one brother Charles Aldridge of Jackson, LA; several nephews and nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ken Free, Don Martin, Marvin Parker, Ray Parks, Bob Temple and Randy Welch.
Honorary pallbearer will be Curtis Jones.
