LaVar Allred Pace died October 8, 2005 in Bountiful, Utah. The most immediate cause of death was a stroke.

She was born July 22, 1919 in Vernal, Utah to Ernest Williams Allred and Irene Birch. She married Curtis Milliner Pace on June 7, 1939 in the Salt Lake Temple. He died April 10, 1955.

LaVar lived in Bennett, Utah as a child. Her family moved to Hanna, Utah, where she met her husband. When Curtis died at age 40, Mom moved her young family to Salt Lake City. She worked in counter sales at the bakery in ZCMI and later as a clerk in the medical welfare department at the LDS Church Offices. She attended LDS Business College. In her later years she worked at the Salt Lake Temple.

LaVar raised a vegetable garden and beautiful flowers, especially roses. She crocheted beautifully and loved to share her talent with others. Her family meant everything to her. Mom has waited more than 50 years to be reunited with her husband. She is survived by her four children, Bonnie Rae Smith (Don); Gary C. Pace; Diane Mower (David); Blaine E Pace (Sue). Preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Lorin, Dale, and two infants, and one great-grandchild. Also survived by two sisters, Crystal Hackett and Velma Aplanalp, two sisters-in-law, Joy Clark and Marlene Allred and by 19 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren, each of which was her very favorite.

Our thanks and love to you Mom, grandma, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. We are so grateful for you. We miss you already! Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 13, 2005 - 11 a.m. in the Kimball Mill LDS Ward, 650 South 200 East, Bountiful, Utah.
