MERRILL P. OVERTON RITES HELD OCT. 3

Funeral services for Merrill P. Overton, 49, Des Moines, were held Wednesday, October 3, at the Hamilton Funeral Home at Des Moines. Burial was in Laurel Hill cemetery.

Overton passed away at the Methodist hospital September 30 after an illness of about eighteen months.

Born in Marion county, he lived in Chariton until going to Des Moines thirteen years ago, where he was employed as a truck driver for the street department. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Local Union 90.

Survivors include the widow, Nellie, two daughters, Ilene and Carolyn, and two sons, Keith Overton of Des Moines and Cpl. Charles Overton, stationed at Ft. Knox, Ky., one granddaughter, and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Fletcher, of Chariton.
