Gerald Dean Crubaugh was born in 1936 to Cleve Vance Crubaugh and Goldie Evelyn Hunter. He was the 6th of their 9 children. He was married twice. He first married Betty Beatrice Hirschberg on 10 May 1958. She had been previously married to E. Roy Miller. Gerald and Betty had 3 children, Thomas Edward Crubaugh (1956-2002), Gerald Edward "Jerry" Crubaugh (b.1958) and James Edward Crubaugh (b.1960). Gerald and Betty parted ways in the 1960s and she went on to marry Gerald's brother, William Dale Crubaugh. Gerald went on to marry Marion L. Wasielewicz. They had two children - John D. Crubaugh (b.1969) and James D. Crubaugh (b.1972).
