Constance Marie Crubaugh was born in 1940 to Cleve Vance Crubaugh and Goldie Evelyn Hunter. She was the 7th of their nine children. She was married twice - first, to ?? Helbach in about 1962 and then, on 23 Mar 1973, to Henry W. Spears in Noble County, IN.

Copy provided by the Sturgis Library, Sturgis, Michigan. Sturgis; Constance "Connie" Marie SPEARS, died March 20, 2003, at Thurston Woods Village, Sturgis. She was born Jan. 15, 1940, in Clinton, Ill., a daughter of Cleve and Goldie (HUNTER) CRUBAUGH. Connie lived in Sturgis since 1995, coming from Florida. Her childhood and early life was spent in the Chicago area. In 1971 she married Henry W. SPEARS in Wolcottville, Ind. He preceded her in death. Connie had been employed by the Metcalf Crab Company in Crawfordville, Fla., and she was a homemaker. She enjoyed helping and caring for the elderly, watching television and shopping. Surviving are; one daughter and her husband, Roxanne and Keith MILLER of Sturgis; two grandchildren, April BARRON and William BARRON; two sisters, Ruth and John HENNING of Chicago and Rosemary PARKER of Berwyn, Ill.; a brother, Gerald and Marrion CRUBAUGH of Cicero, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters and three brothers. Friends and relatives may call after 5 p.m. today at the Hackman-Foglesong Funeral Home of Sturgis where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services celebrating the life of Connie SPEARS will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Keith Treman, First United Methodist Church of Sturgis will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. If desired, memorials may be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home
