MAPLE CITY — Richard Gale Arnold, 77, of Traverse City, died Thursday, Feb. 7, at Maple Valley Nursing Home. Richard was born on Oct. 7, 1930, in Acme, to George and Lorena Arnold.
He was employed at Traverse City Public Schools as a custodian. After many years of dedicated work, Richard retired as head custodian of Oak Park Elementary and Willow Hill Elementary Schools.
On Dec. 20, 1954, Richard married Virginia Sattler of Traverse City. Richard was a member of First Church of the Nazarene for over 50 years.
Richard is survived by his wife, Virginia; his sons, Terry (Susan) Arnold of Lake Ann and David Arnold of Interlochen; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 11, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at First Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Richard Rice officiating. Burial will be at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
