She died between May 3 & 10th in 1882. Her obituary as printed in The Sullivan Democrat newspaper on Wednesday, May 17, 1882 under the Graysville Bulletins section:
Mrs. John W. Osburn was buried last Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Turman's Prairie Cemetery. She died of consumtion, and passed away happily, she leaves a husband and two children. Mr. Osburn has our sympathy in his bereavement.
