Martin married Susannah Mayfield on December 28, 1835 in Crawford County, Illinois. They were living on a farm in Graysville in Turman Township, Sullivan County, IN by November 30, 1839. They had 10 children together, all born in Sullivan County, Indiana:
A male child who died as an infant;
John P. who served in the Civil War;
Elizabeth Bullock Colvin;
Mary Bullock Anderson;
Chapman, who died young;
Nancy Bullock Barnes;
Jasper;
Clifford;
Precilla Bullock Osborn; and
George;

The Sullivan Democrat weekly newspaper, under the GRAYSVILLE BULLETINS section, reported on Wednesday, December 31,1873 that Mr. Martin Bullock is just alive at this writing, of typhoid fever. Doctor A. Weir is in attendance.

On Wednesday, Feb 4, 1874, that same newspaper simply said We record the death of Mr. Martin Bullock. It is not known where he is buried, but it may be in White-Crow/Union Chapel Cemetery in Graysville, where they lived.
