Mrs. Carrie Emmamae Tressler Wastler, 88, of 17 Walnut St., Thurmont, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
She was the wife of Morris Allen Wastler, who died June 16,1968.
Born Dec. 14,1908, at Loy's Station, she was the daughter of the
late Charles William and Elizabeth E. Stambaugh Tressler.
Mrs. Wastler was a lifelong member of Thurmont Church of the
Brethren.
Surviving are five children, Edith L. Wastler of Hilton Head, S.C., Bonnie E. Nikirk of Thurmont, Phyllis M. Martin of Hawley, Pa., Wayne M. Wastler of Thurmont, and Lois R. Wastler of Hilton Head, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Dennis W McKown, Philip K. Wastler, Melanie Davis, Jeffery Martin, Dawn Williams, David Wastler and Karen Willard; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Stead of Chalfont, Pa.; and
numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wastler will also be remembered by close friend Gail Quick of Hilton Head.
Mrs. Wastler was preceded in death by five brothers, Samuel
Tressler, Roy Tressler, Charles Tressler, Joseph Tressler and John
Tressler; and six sisters, Mary Shaffer, Pansy Tressler, Ethel Pittinger, Minnie Johnson, Beulah Harman and Edith Danner.
Mrs. Wastler is at the Thurmont funeral home of Robert E. Dailey &
Son, 615 E. Main SL, where friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Franklin and the Rev. Joanne Gaver officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont. Memorial donations may be made to either Thurmont Church of the Brethren Memorial Fund, 14
