Anna's Parents Johannes Olsen and Mother Annie Olsen immigrated
with baby Anna from Norway to the USA arriving in New York on
5/14/1887. Shortly after they came to the USA, Anna's Father Johannes
died tragically of a lightening strike accident Oct. 17, 1887,
in the Dakota Territory or North Dakota USA. Anna's Mother Annie
was now a young widow from Norway with a baby who just immigrated
to USA. Anna's Mother Annie Olsen remarried Johannes brother
Ole J. Olsen in the USA. Anna appears to have used the Olson last name
per some records. Her Mother Annie kept her name spelled Olsen.
Anna moved to MN as a baby with her Mother Annie after her Father
Johannes Olsen passed away. Anna married Andrew Samdal in North Dakota
and lived in North Dakota until after Andrew passed away. Anna returned to MN
and lived in MN the rest of her life. Anna was living in South Minneapolis MN when
she passed away. Anna is survived by many relatives around the USA, including
MN, possibly North Dakota and in Norway.

after being struck by lightening. (North Dakota?) Annie's Parents
and baby Anna had just immigrated to the USA from Norway in the Spring
of 1887. We welcome information about Johannes to create or link

Our Family does not know which Cemetery in Hawley Clay Co. MN he is buried
at this time. Our Family welcomes more information regarding where Johannes is
buried, his history. much research, no results. He may have been given new
name at time of Immigration or different spellings. John, Jon, Olson. unknown.

records were in Hawley, Clay Co. MN. Our Family was just starting to immigrate
to the USA during that time. Johannes came to the USA via New York.
Johannes possibly our only Family Member who immigrated to
North Dakota at that time. The rest of our Family who immigrated from Norway
appeared to be initially settling in MN. Two US ELCA archive records sited so
far for Anna's biological father Johannes Olsen. ELCA records site
Olsan surname spelling versus Olsen correct spelling on both. The
Second ELCA record for Johannes site Church as Seminary and Church location
as St. Paul Minnesota. This ELCA record may refer to the Luther Seminary in
St. Paul Minnesota where the US ELCA archives are located. Neither ELCA
record sites specific cemetery for Johannes. Our Family welcomes this

Our Family thus far has not found any records siting that Anna and Andrew were
Blessed with children. Anna's Mother Annie's obituary referred to her Mother Annie
Olsen having a grandchild. Per a Family picture of Anna's Mother Annie Olsen
from abt 1949 or before Annie is photographed with a handsome Raymond Arthur Olsen Jr. in a U.S. WWII Military uniform. (1924 - 1998) , Anna's nephew, Her late Brother Raymond Olsen's Son. ( And another 1949 photo with Annie Olsen, Raymond Jr, Helen & John Haines and Raymond Jr.'s Baby John R. Olsen.

Anna and Andrew lived in Woodbury Township Stutsman Co. North Dakota in 1940. They lived in Pingree Stutsman North Dakota in a 1920 Federal Census. Referred to both being born in Norway. There were no childrens names or other names.

Our John Olsen's very Specific ELCA Records, mostly in Norwegian
sited names, dates, lots of data but not the name of the Hawley Clay Co. MN
Cemetery.

( Our Johannes Olsen's Funeral Services via the Evangelical Lutheran Church
records were in Hawley, Clay Co. MN. Our Family was just starting to immigrate
to the USA during that time. Johannes came to the USA via New York.
Johannes possibly our only Family Member who immigrated to
North Dakota at that time. The rest of our Family who immigrated from Norway
appeared to be initially settling in MN. Two US ELCA archive records sited so
far for Anna's biological father Johannes Olsen. ELCA records site
Olsan surname spelling versus Olsen correct spelling on both. The
Second ELCA record for Johannes site Church as Seminary and Church location
as St. Paul Minnesota. This ELCA record may refer to the Luther Seminary in
St. Paul Minnesota where the US ELCA archives are located. Neither ELCA
record sites specific cemetery for Johannes. Our Family welcomes this
information to create a Memorial for Johannes. (More specific info is
sited in Mother Annie and Adopted Father Ole Olsen's Memorial Bios.)

Johannes's siblings Petra, Ole and Mary Mellemsdokken Olsen
immigrated to USA and settled in Minnesota
before Johannes and his Family
( Annie and Anna) immigrated from Norway to USA in May 1887.
Johannes Olsen's Sister Petra Olsen Thurstison was living in
Wadena Co. MN at the time Johannes passed
away. Brother Ole appears to have been
have been living in the USA by 1884.
Johannes Sister Mary Olsen Loom arrived to USA about 1883 and may lived
in Motley Minnesota after she married John Loom in 1886 in Wadena Co. MN. Johannes
Olsen's brother Anton Mellemsdokken Olsen (Olson) immigrated to
USA with his spouse Hannah and baby daughter Alma in 1901.
Anton's Family resided in the Aldrich Wadena Co MN area in USA initially
with Petra's Family. Anton and Hannah became Anton Olson and
Hannah Jordet Olson in the USA.

Possibly John, Johan, Jon or Johannes Olsen or Olson in USA.

Andrew was a Farmer, in the Farm Industry.

Their family household was the two of them , married, in reports found,
no children listed unless there is more info in other reports not found.

Sited Anna and Andrew Samdal living with or sited with a huge group of persons
names. They were the only Samdals on the large list. Many different
surnames listed for adults and children. Sited as A.J. Samdal and Anna Samdal.

Our Family thus far has not found any records siting that Anna and Andrew were
Blessed with children. Anna's Mother Annie's obituary referred to her Mother Annie
Olsen having a grandchild. Per a Family picture of Anna's Mother Annie Olsen
from abt 1949 or before Annie is photographed with a handsome Raymond Arthur Olsen Jr. in a U.S. WWII Military uniform. (1924 - 1998) , Anna's nephew, Her late Brother Raymond Olsen's Son. ( And another 1949 photo with Annie Olsen, Raymond Jr, Helen & John Haines and Raymond Jr.'s Baby John R. Olsen.

Anna and Andrew lived in Woodbury Township Stutsman Co. North Dakota in 1940. They lived in Pingree Stutsman North Dakota in a 1920 Federal Census. Referred to both being born in Norway. There were no childrens names or other names.
