Joseph William Crubaugh was born in 1869 to James Wilson Crubaugh and Mary Jane Mozingo. He married Laura Adeline "Addie" Lawyer on 30 Jan 1896 in McLean County, IL.
They had 4 children: Burril Eugene Crubaugh (1896-1961), Homer "Skeeter" Crubaugh (1898-1971), John Henry Crubaugh (1899-1931), and Raymond Paul Crubaugh (1903-1996). Joseph died in 1950 and Addie died 8 years later. She did not remarry.

JOSEPH WILHAM CRUBAUGH

Joseph W. was born on March 13, 1869, at Leesville, in Lawrence Township, Boone County, Indiana. He was the second child of James Wilson and Mary Jane (Hookersmith) Crubaugh. He was a grandson of William and Beulah (Venerable) Crubaugh. His older sister was Emma A.
By the year of 1879, at the latest, Joseph's family had moved from Indiana to Illinois, where they settled in Old Town Township, in McLean County.
It was January 30, 1896, when Joseph W. Crubaugh was married to Laura Addaline Lawyer at Bloomington, Illinois. The wedding, which was the first for each of them, was conducted by the Rev. J. H. Gilleland. C.F. Burgum was a witness. Joseph was about 3 1/2 months shy of 27 years of age. Laura A" a native of Indiana, who declared her age to be 24 years, was a daughter of Silas Lawyer and Rachael Davis.

During the 1900 Census. Joseph was living in Mclean County, with his wife, Addie, and their three sons; Burill, born in October of 1896, 3 years old; Homer, born in January of 1898, age 2; and John Henry, born in January of 1899, age 1.
The fourth son of Joseph and Louisa Addie, Raymond P., was born on 9-22-1903 in McLean County.

In the year of 1910, Joe Crubaugh was living in Vernon County, Missouri, with his wife, Addie, and their four sons.

By 1920, Joseph had settled on a farm at Kenney, in DeWitt County, Illinois, where he farmed until his retirement.
Sometime shortly after the Census of 1920, Joseph W. moved his father, James W., from Bloomington, Illinois, to his farm in DeWitt County, where he remained until his death in August of 1925.

Joseph W. died at home on December 19, 1950, at the age of 81 years, 9 months, and 6 days. Laura's death occurred in 1958, when she was 84 years old. They share a headstone in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, at Kenney, Illinois
