Bertha Thompson
ELWOOD — Mrs. Bertha Ella Woodruff Brough Thompson, 86, of Salt Lake City, formerly of Elwood, died Friday at the home of a daughter in Taylorsville of natural causes.
She was born June 30, 1888, in Salt Lake City, a
ter of Marian and Hansen Dorthea Bertha Jensen Woodruff.
She was reared and educated In Tremonton.
She married Charles William Brough on May 16, 1906, In the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Brough died Jan. 5, 1919. She married Karl Albert Thomp-
son on Feb. 23, 1922, in the Logan LDS Temple. He died April 22, 1966.
She lived in Elwood and moved to Tremonton in 1966 and moved to Salt Lake City in 1971.
She was a member of the LDS Church and a member of the Relief Society and a visiting teacher. A Primary teacher, she also served as a member of the Tremonton 5th Ward Singing Mothers.
She was the oldest living granddaughter of President Wilford Woodruff.
She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
I Survivors include three sons and six daughters, Charles Vern Brough, Mrs. Don (Ella) Blanch Grace Mrs. Don (Leah) Symes, all of Salt Lake City; Oral W. Brough of Deweyville; Lloyd ' Thompson of Garland; Mrs. Ralph (Chloe) Ellis of Kearns; Mrs. Darrel (Edith) Crossley of Taylorsville; and Mrs. Boyd (Merle Jean) Gardner of Honeyville.
Also surviving are three step-sons and four step-daughters, Sheldon Thompson of Corinne; Claude A. Thompson of Nampa, Idaho; William T. Thompson, Mrs. Salvador (Ruth) Perfecto and Mrs. (Lucy) Fryer, all of Ogden; Mrs. Henry (Lila) C. Jorgensen of Orem; Mrs. Glenn (Rosada) Fryer of Tremonton.
Also surviving are 67 grandchildren, 152 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. There are also four brothers and three sisters: Marion Earl Woodruff of Falls City, Ore.; Leland O. Woodruff and Elmer D. Woodruff, both of Tremonton; Vernon J. Woodruff and Mrs. Frank (Rosa) A. Brainard of Wahklacus, Wash.; Mrs. Mamie H. Hill of Legrand. Ore.; Mrs. Arlin (Iva) Madsen of Deweyville.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 12 noon in the Elwood LDS Ward Chapel.
Friends may call at Rogers Mortuary In Tremonton on Sunday from 7 to 9. p.m. and Monday from 10 to 11 :30 a.m. Burial in the Riverview Cemetery in Tremonton.
