"Oh Golly"…Our beloved Mother and Grandmother Chloe was born on February 6, 1923 and called home on June 27, 2018. Chloe was the strongest of us all… a true Matriarch of our family. She was proper and sassy and a little bit spoiled. Born in Tremonton, Utah to Karl Albert and Bertha Ella Woodruff Thompson. She was the last one left of 18 children and outlived her spouse and 4 children at 95 years old - What a wonderful heavenly reunion! Chloe met the love of her life Ralph Oakley Ellis and married him on May 22, 1939. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They had 4 children: Nadene (Dennis) Gamble, Stevan (Rita) Ellis, Duane (Dawna) Ellis and Roger Ellis. They had 18 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren. Chloe retired from the Salt Lake City Police Department where she worked in records. She loved her home and loved having everyone over as much as possible for grandma's cookies, tea and coffee. For those of us too young, we got their ever famous "Mormon Tea." The highlight was sitting around the table just visiting and listening to grandma's stories. Chloe loved her rose bushes and manicuring her yard. She enjoyed a good game of baseball, playing pool with the guys and bowling. She loved dancing and now is "Dancing in the Sky." We love you Mom and Grandma! Thank you so much for coming home and letting us share this last part of your sweet journey. Funeral services will be held on Monday July 2, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road in West Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held on Monday one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Interment will follow at Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
