OLD RESIDENT PASSES AWAY
Mrs. Joanna Swindlehurst passed away at her home in Harrisville Saturday morning, June 24th. Mrs. Swindlehurst had been ailing about two months and became very serious at the sudden shock of the death of her nephew, Thomas Swindlehurst who passed away one week ago.
Joanna Hendrie was born in Harrisville township on November 20th, 1860. At the age of twenty-eight she was united in marriage to the late William Swindlehurst who passed away on January 10th, 1926. To this union were born Seven children of whom six are living; Lillie Van Wagoner, Allie McCourt, and Russel of Harrisville; Mae Johnson of Port Huron, William of Mt. Clemens and Sarah Bartreau of Alpena.
Besides her children the deceased leaves to mourn her loss one sister, Mrs. Mary Specht, fourteen grand children and six great grand children, and hosts of friends.
Mrs. Swindlehurst was a member of the M. E. ladies aid for a great many years. The burial was in the Springport Cemetery to which the remains were accompanied by a large number of her friends. The Rev. C. S. Brown was in charge
