Mrs. Samantha C. Cummings, widow of the late David Cummings, died at her home, 419 University Street, Pella, at 4:45 p.m. Friday, October 5, 1928, aged 78 years, 3 months and 27 days. Ills incidental to old age caused her death. She is survived by three sons, Art, George, and Fred of Pella, and two daughters, Mrs. Edith Burggraaf, of Des Moines, and Mrs. Weigand, living in Colorado. Funeral services were held Monday, a short service at the home at eleven o'clock, and a public service at the Prymouth church ten miles south of Pella, near the former home of the deceased. Interment was at the Breckenridge cemetery in Clay Township.
