Knoxville (Iowa) Journal, 23 Apr 1879:
DIED, April 19th, 1879, at her home in Clay township, this county, Miss Nettie, youngest daughter of Macklin Copeland in her nineteenth year. The young lady this taken in the morn of life leaves a cirge circle of friends and relatives to mourn her departure. Suffering from a form of consumption, her last illness was of short duration, and she was cheerful to the last. For several years past she was a consistent member of the M. E. Church, and her nearest friends have the assurance that she has gone to inherit a new life in Christ.
