He was the son of John R. and Ellen Suits Lewis.
In 1864 he married Hannah Eychner who died in 1913.
On Nov.1, 1920 he married Julia Daprix.

Western, May 9. — Alonzo C. Lewis died at his home here yesterday afternoon.
He was born and always lived here. He would have been 78 years old on July 5.
Mr. Lewis was a veteran of the Civil War.
He was twice married. His second wife, who survives, was Julia Daprix, whom he married nine months ago.
He is survived by the following children: Hiram Lewis of North Western, Mrs. Hiram Dixon of Detroit, MI, Mrs. Nathaniel Stone of North Dakota, Mrs. George Moore of Salisbury, Herkimer county, and one sister, Mrs. Charles Tinker of Baldwinsville. There are four grandchildren and twelve greatgrandchildren.
The funeral will be held at the house at 1 p. m. tomorrow and at the
Carmichael Hill Church at 2 o'clock. Rome Daily Sentinel, Monday Evening, May 9, 1921

Additional info: Mr. Lewis was a veteran of the Civil War having enlisted, August 20, 1862, at age 19 at Lysander, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. G, September 17, 1862; discharged for disability, August 3, 1863, at Washington, D. C.
