Funeral services for Wilma 0. Showden, 86, of Clearfield will be held at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark Brower officiating.
She passed away Friday, Feb. 10. at Clearfield Hospital.
Interment will follow at Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Tuesday, Feb. 14. from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 15, from 10 a.m. until the hour of services.
Born May 28, 1925, at Oak Hill, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Levina (Moore) Heichel.
Mrs. Showden had worked as a waitress at the Dimeling Coffee Shop and the Clearfield B PO Elks Lodge No 540.
She was Methodist by faith.
Wilma is survived by two daughters, Judith Ann Sass of Chardon, Ohio, and Joyce Marie Leigey and her husband, Raymond, of Clearfield; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy Luzier, Vera Louise Smith and Martha Showden, all of Clearfield, and Ruth Heichel of Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Showden, whom she wed Nov. 14, 1942, and who passed away Nov. 6 , 2004; and a son-in-law, Gary Sass.
She was the last surviving member of her generation, having been precected in death by five brothers and five sisters.
