Gerald L. Heichel Sr., 76, of 209 W. Pine St., Clearfield, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 1996, at Clearfield Hospital.
Born Aug. 12, 1919, in Karthaus RD, he was a son of the late Clyde and Lavine (Moore) Heichel.
Mr. Heichel had retired from Clearfield Machine Co., Clearfield.
He was affiliated with the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Wolf Run. He was a member of the Old Town Sportsmen's Association.
Surviving are three children, Robert E. Heichel and Gerald L. Heichel Jr., both of Clearfield, and Ronald K. Heichel of Williamsburg; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one brother, Eugene Heichel of Clearfield; and two sisters, Nina Reed and Wilma Showden, both of Clearfield RD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rachel J. (Godin) Heichel, on March 11, 1991; three brothers, Morris, Carl and Oliver Heichel; and four sisters, Edra Malizia, Inez Hertlein, Freida Kelly and Ruth Showden.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, with Dr. Duane White officiating.
Interment will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday until the hour of services at 11 a.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 92, Clearfield, PA 16830.
