Homer R. Sampson

Homer R. Sampson, 74, of Otto Star Route, Spencer, died at his home Friday, following a short illness.

He was born Nov. 2, 1889 in Calhoun County, son of W. A. [William Ayers] and Mary Kirby [Kerby]-Sampson. He was a retired oil and gas field employee, and a member of the Slate Methodist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ocie Craddock-Sampson, one daughter, Mrs. Izetta Bennett, of Hurricane; two sons -------- cannot read film--------------- one sister, Mrs. Vesta Buchanan of Walker; two brothers, John Sampson [Edwin], of Parkersburg, and [James] Howard Sampson, of San Jose, Calif., and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at The Slate Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Dusky officiating. Burial will be in the Gibson Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer until noon Sunday, the body will lie in state one hour at the church.

Note: Homer's sons were Leslie & Clyde Fridell. Not mentioned in the obit was a daughter, Brooks [or Brook].
