Mary Linton was born in Beegum CA and at seventeen married 35 year old Austin Alva Tracy. Austin was odd and unstable, leaving his family for weeks at a time without explanation. At the time he was running a cattle operation then went into logging near Quincy. In the five years of the marriage the couple had three children before Austin left for good. Mary worked at restaurants in Red Bluff and Chico including at Richardsons Hot Springs resort to make a living for her family. She waited on members of the Rockefeller family and dated a member of the Schilling (spices) family. After many years she started working for the railroad in Gerber where she met and soon married Howard Mulholland who also had children. They moved repeatedly while Howard went from one job to another. Mary finally filed for divorce. In 1967, Mary met and married Ed Espinosa and they enjoyed a happy union until his death in 1988.
