Wm. Wegner Dies at New Ulm Hospital

Prominent Business Man Here for 42 Years to Be Buried Friday

Wm. F. Wegner, prominent and respected Lamberton business man since 1901, died at a New Ulm hospital Tuesday noon, November 9. He had entered the hospital Oct 5 and submitted to a major operation October 19 which was successful. An infected kidney would not respond to treatment and was the cause of death.
Funeral services will be conducted here Friday at the home and at the Evangelical church. Services at the home will be at 1:30 o'clock and at the church at 2 o'clock.
William Frederick Wegner was born in New Ulm, March 21, 1872, the son of William and Sofia Wegner. He was married March 4, 1893 to Anna Marquardt.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. John Hubert (Esther), Mrs. Levi Juhnke (Leona) and Mrs. Arnie Swenson (Elaine) of Omaha, Nebr. He also leaves a brother, Charley, and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Wegner farmed in this community until 1901 when he went into the implement and manager of the Lumber Implement Co.,
Mr. Wegner was prominent in business and social circles in Lamberton during his younger days. He was a member of the Lamberton Commercial club and was a former member of the administrative council of the Evangelical church.
He joined the Evangelical church in his youth. He was also a member of the Masonic lodge.
Pallbearers will be, R.D. Butler, J.E. Chambers, A.G. Einen, Harold Tassler, V.M. Calkins and T.E. Kuehl.

Wm. F. Wegner of Lamberton died at the Union hospital in this city Tuesday, November 9th, at the age of 71 years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Anna Marquardt, and three daughters, Mrs. John Hubert and Mrs. Levi Juhnke, both of Lamberton, and Mrs. Arnie Swenson, Omaha, Neb.
One brother, Charles , at Lamberton, also survives as do 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services have not been arranged at this writing but no doubt the body will be shipped to Lamberton for burial.
Deceased was engaged in the hardware business at Lamberton for many years.
