Marian E. Sanchez
Marian Elizabeth Sanchez, 73, of Seaside, a resident of the Peninsula for 60 years, died Tuesday at Community Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born March 10, 1913, in Marion, Ind., Mrs. Sanchez moved to the Peninsula in 1926.
She was a past member of the Carmel Valley Gem and Mineral Society, the Gold Coast Boat Club and the West Coast Radio Club.
Her husband, Celestino, died last December, shortly after the Sanchez's celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Sanchez is survived by four daughters, Chris Rust of Prunedale, Delores Rose of Pacific Grove, Tillie Corvello of Salinas and Leona Avila of Seaside; two sisters, Lutina Hedrick and Berniece Mead, both of Seaside; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. A son, Robert Sanchez, died in 1973.
Services will be held at 10 am Friday at the El Estero Chapel of Mission Mortuary. Burial will follow at the Mission Memorial Park.
