Russell Fred Brandenburg, age 86, husband of Angeline Cioffi Brandenburg, to whom he would have been married for 60 years as of Sep. 5, 2013, passed away Friday, August 30, 2013 at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was born May 6, 1927 in Estill County and was a son of the late Fred Wesley and Williw Hume Richardson Brandenburg. He was a carpenter and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Air Force. He is survived by:

His wife: Angeline Jean Cioffi Brandenburg, Elizabethtown, KY

Two Daughters: Teresa Brandenburg DeStefano, Cincinnati, OH Donna Brandenburg Fohl, Elizabethtown, KY

One Son: David Brandenburg, Springfield, OH

Three Sisters: Madonna Jenkins (Boyd), Irvine Delma Lee Lakes, Irvine Evelyn Jean Williams (Don), Irvine

Two Brothers: Junior Brandenburg (Christine), Irvine Harold Brandenburg (Carol), Irvine

Eight Grandchildren: Jennifer Miller, Melissa Miller, Julie McNamee, Justin Brandenburg, Kelly Brandenburg, Tom Fohl, Steve Fohl, and Mike Fohl.

Seven Great Grandchildren also survive.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters: Lillian Kirk, Lena B. Henry, and Jo Etta Brandenburg; one brother, James Brandenburg; and one grandchild, Joseph Fohl.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church by Rev. Max Hester. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 1:30 p.m. until service time on Sunday at the church.
