Allen Franklin Bowman Sr., 64, of Springdale died Jan. 12 at the Veterans' Administration Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Feb. 28, 1918, in Whorton Creek, the son of James R. and Alice Tennessee Bolinger Bowman. He was a World War II veteran, a member of the American Legion and a member of the Calvary Free Will Baptist Church. He was an automobile mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Arlie Officer Bowman of the home; four sons, Frank Bowman of Fayetteville, Ron Bowman, Sam Bowman and Richard Bowman, all of Springdale; five daughters, Gayle Turner of Rogers, Linda Pharris of Huntsville, Elaine Litterell, Jimmie Cook and Connie Thurber, all of Springdale; two sisters, Rhoda Stansell of Nortonville, Kan., and Bandie Ledbetter of Rose, Okla.; 12 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, three great-grandchildren.

Services were Friday, January 14, at Brashears Funeral Home with the Rev. Noel Easterling and the Rev. Cecil Garrison officiating. Burial will be in McBroom Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Roy Bowman, Vernon Bowman, Earl Bowman, Vester Bowman, Creed Stansell and Leonard Stansell.
