NORTONVILLE - Rhoda Victoria Stansell, 98, of Nortonville, passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at Village Villa Care Center in Nortonville.

Mrs. Stansell was born April 9, 1906, in Huntsville, Ark., the daughter of James R. and Alice Bolinger Bowman. She attended grade school in Whorton Creek, Ark.

She was a member of Nortonville Christian Church. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, sewing, quilting and cooking, and she loved her family.

She married George W. "Asbury" Stansell on Dec. 27, 1920, in Huntsville, Ark. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1973.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, George Stansell and Luther Stansell; an infant daughter; great-grandson; two brothers; two sisters; and her parents.

She is survived by two sons, Jim Stansell and Frank Stansell; seven daughters, Alpha Cohoon, Rita Navinsky, Jean Langworthy, Kay Emmerich, Eva Lee Whitecotton, Irma Sweet and Margaret Schuler; 23 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Nortonville Christian Church, with Pastor LeRoy Riley officiating. Burial will be at Nortonville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at O'Trimble Funeral Home in Nortonville.
