Mary Frances Bruce, 94, formerly of Medley, W.Va., died Saturday, January 18, 1997, at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, W.Va.

Born on February 8, 1902, in Williamsport, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Samuel J. Howard and Lucy Ellen (Clifford) Howard. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, Isaiah H. "Pete" Bruce, on June 3, 1945; one daughter, Evelyn M. Thomas; one sister, Marguerite Coleman, and two brothers, Oliver Howard and Arthur Howard.

Mrs. Bruce was a member of the St. Paul's Methodist Church, Williamsport, and a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Rosa E. Hollingsworth and husband Robert, and Mrs. Frances E. Mabin and husband Raymond, all of Keyser; eight sons, Virgil D. Bruce and wife Babara, of Philadelphia, Pa.; Isaiah H. Bruce and wife Virginia, of Petersburg; Ashton L. Bruce and wife Kay, of Lorain, Ohio; Milford V. Bruce, of Keyser; Marvin H. Bruce and wife Cheryl, of Mitchellville, Md.; Ernest H. Bruce and wife Sylvia, of Columbus, Ohio, and James C. Bruce and Thomas S. Bruce, both of Washington, D.C.; 43 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Smith Funeral Home, Keyser, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be con- ducted in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Harry Coleman officiating.

Interment will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Williamsport.
