DENNIS MCCARTHY FUNERAL PENDING.Funeral services are pending for Dennis Edmond (Mack) McCarthy, 72, who died Monday evening at a local hospital. Mr. McCarthy was born Dec. 5, 1879 at Amsterdam, New York. His parents moved to Holt county, Nebraska, 1881. He was married to Elizabeth Sullivan, March 26, 1913 at Norfolk, Nebraska.The family moved to Cherry Creek in 1915 and to McGill in 1918. In the latter place Mr. McCarthy was employed by Kennecott Copper Corp. from 1918 until his retirement in 1950. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Sullivan McCarthy of East Ely, two sons, Gerald McCarthy , McGill, and JohnC. McCarthy of Las Vegas, three daughters, Miss Catherine McCarthy, McGill, Mrs. Nellie Northness, East Ely, and Margaret Robertson, North Richland, Wash. and eight grandchildren.

Catholic funeral rites and special committal services will be held for Dennis McCarthy Saturday at the Sacred Heartchurch. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at the Wilson Bates chapel Friday at 7:30 p.m.Mass will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. and final committal rites will begin at the Sacred Heart church at 5:30 p.m.before the burial in the Ely city cemetery.
