ERNEST R. CLAIR
Ernest Ralph Clair, age 86 of Baring, Missouri, died Friday May 20, 2005, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
He was born on August 31, 1918 at Baring, Missouri the son of Pearl Ellis and Elsie Louise (Poston) Clair.
On March 30, 1940 at Edina, Missouri he was united in marriage to Ruby Edith Brown and she preceded him in death on March 5, 2001.
Also preceding him in death were his parents, and two brothers, Lloyd and Cletus Clair.
Surviving are three sons, Jim D. Clair of Kirksville, Missouri, Gary G. Clair and his wife Jean of Hurdland, Missouri, and David R. Clair of Baring, Missouri; four grandchildren, Heather Ruth Baker, Shawn Dale Clair, Brian Chadwick Clair, and Julie Michelle Clair Tuck; one great-grandchild, Kyle Baker and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Clair was a life long resident of Knox County where he received his education. He was engaged in farming in the Baring and Hurdland, Missouri communities his entire life. Ernest enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball and country music.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2005, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. Reverend Robert Shobe officiated the services. Musical selections were "Go Rest High On That Mountain."
Burial was in the Linville Cemetery at Edina, Missouri. Casket bearers were Larry Overstreet, Lee Fox, Gary Clair, Chad Clair, Mike Kite and Larry Schrage. Honorary bearers were Harold Harper and Norval Bledsoe.
